PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION
We provide fast, easy access to a specialist physiotherapist and will work with your GP where required to treat your condition effectively and efficiently.
SPORTS THERAPY
It is important to treat injuries as soon as they arise and we will normally be able to offer an appointment within 48 hours to assess, diagnose and provide immediate advice or treatment as required.
We also offer in depth assessments to determine the cause of any injuries and recurring injuries or 'niggles' to enable you to fulfil your sporting potential or simply maintain an active lifestyle.
PRE AND POST OPERATIVE REHABILITATION
Pre-operative preparation is very important to give yourself the best chance of a smooth recovery post operatively. Keeping your body as mobile and strong as possible is the best preparation for surgery on joints, (such as hip and knee replacements). You will also receive advice, education and support for your upcoming operation. Following your surgery, we will take you through a progressive strength and stretching plan to restore full movement and mobility.
ANTENATAL AND POSTNATAL
Physiotherapy can help to ease pregnancy related joint aches and pains through gentle manual therapy, massage and modified pilates exercises. We will develop personalised exercise prescriptions to support your body post pregnancy. We can also provide supportive treatment for some women health conditions, please call us to discuss.
ARTHRITIS
The most common type of arthritis is osteoarthritis (OA), this is often called 'wear and tear' or 'degenerative changes'. It is a common condition in the joints characterised by stiffness after rest or first thing in the morning, aching and increasing discomfort after heavy work or exercise.
Physiotherapy management plans will include bespoke exercise plans, pain relief and support and advice to manage your condition.
ELDERLY CARE
Over the age of 65, 1 in 3 people will experience a fall and once this happens there is a high chance we will fall again within a year.
We are passionate about falls prevention strategies and supporting your independence. We provide bespoke exercise plans to maintain strength, mobility and improve posture and balance. We can support with gait re-education and also advise on walking aids.
We offer home visits to your own home or care home if you are unable to travel to Oaklands Health Centre.
BACK PAIN
Back pain affects almost everyone at some point in their life. Most cases are not serious and physiotherapists can support and guide you to a full recovery. We will use hands on techniques to help relieve pain and during our in depth assessment, we try to identify the cause of your back pain and develop appropriate rehabilitation strategies to stop back pain affecting you again.
